                          J U D G M E N T

The petitioners herein are seeking for a direction to the

1st respondent to pass necessary orders permitting the petitioners

to fill up the vacancies of non-teaching staff in the 1st petitioner-

institution.

2. Rajagiri College of Social Sciences is a reputed

educational institution affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi

University which has been accredited at 5 star level and

reaccredited at A+ level by NAAC. Four aided courses including 3

Post Graduate Courses are offered in the college.

3. The petitioners’ college is having only P.G Course and

Diploma, and Post Graduate Diploma Course in the aided sector.

It is pointed out that in the light of the ban orders issued by the

Government, existing vacancies of non-teaching staff could not

be filled up. Exhibit P1 is the order by which staff pattern was

revised in the institution in question.

4. The petitioners have moved the Government by filing

Exhibit P2 representation for permission to fill up seven posts,

the details of which have been stated in Exhibit P2 itself.

Heard the learned Government Pleader appearing for

respondents. There will be a direction to the 1st respondent to

take a decision on Exhibit P2 in the light of Exhibit P1 within a

period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this

judgment and communicate the decision to the petitioners. The

1st respondent will pass appropriate orders after taking into

consideration the requirements of the institution that are pointed

out by the petitioners and also bearing in mind the staff pattern

that is provided in Exhibit P1.

This writ petition is disposed of as above.
