--------
4 13.4.2011 Heard learned counsel for the appellants and
learned counsel for the State.
By the impugned order, the learned Writ Court
has dismissed the writ petition after noticing that the
claim of the appellants was on the basis that they are
retrenched employees of the census operation carried in
the year 1981. The main ground for filing writ petition
in the year 2005 is that another person, one Baikunth
Thakur, was appointed in the year 1989. Now, in 2010-
11 no useful purpose will be served by directing the
authorities to consider the case of the persons, who were
retrenched 30 years earlier. Because of gap of such time
period and there being no other right except the right to
-2-
be considered and considering the advanced age of such
retrenched employees, we are of the considered view that
the order of the Writ Court dismissing the writ petition
for delay and latches needs no interference.
The appeal is accordingly dismissed.
