IN THE HIGH COURT OF KERALA AT ERNAKULAM Bail Appl..No. 8174 of 2010() 1. RAVEENDRANATH @ MOHANAN, ... Petitioner Vs 1. THE STATE OF KERALA, REPRESENTED BY ... Respondent 2. THE SUPERINTENDENT, 3. THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE, 4. THE DETECTIVE INSPECTOR, For Petitioner :SRI.R.V.SUJIT KUMAR For Respondent :PUBLIC PROSECUTOR The Hon'ble MR. Justice V.RAMKUMAR Dated :20/12/2010 O R D E R V.RAMKUMAR, J. --------------------------------------------------- Bail Application No.8174 of 2010 ----------------------------------------------------- Dated this the 20th day of December, 2010 ORDER
The petitioner, who is accused No.5 in Crime No.461 of
2006 of Balaramapuram Police Station (renumbered as Crime
No.335/CR/S1/2006 of CBCID, SIG-1, CFS Police Station) for
an offence punishable under Section 489(A), (B) & (C) of
I.P.C., seeks his enlargement on bail. The petitioner was
arrested on 28/09/2010.
2. The learned Public Prosecutor opposed the
application submitting inter alia that the petitioner along with
4th accused was manufacturing counterfeit currency and the
petitioner is involved in yet another crime of similar nature.
3. Having regard to the gravity of the offences, nature
of the allegations levelled against the petitioner, the relative
conduct of the parties, the propensities of the petitioner and
the other facts and circumstances of the case, I am of the view
that if the petitioner is released on bail, he will definitely
influence and intimidate the prosecution witnesses. There is
also the likelihood of the petitioner making himself scarce and
fleeing from justice. I am, therefore, not inclined to grant bail
to the petitioner at this stage.
This petition is accordingly dismissed.
V. RAMKUMAR, JUDGE
