MADAM SPEAKER: Hon. Members, 1st December every year is observed as World AIDS Day. AIDS, the dreaded pandemic of our times, is spreading across the globe, taking within its deathly grip more and more people with each passing year.

While the medical science is making significant strides towards finding a treatment for AIDS, the most challenging task for mankind is to check its spread resulting in its eventual eradication.

Let us, on this occasion, reaffirm our resolve to step up efforts for containing this dreaded disease by generating awareness among public and more importantly by lending a helping hand to the unsuspecting innocent victims of AIDS.
