                                   O R D E R

The petitioners, who are accused Nos. 1 to 9 in Crime

No.79/2007 of Pandikkad Police Station for offences punishable

under Sections 143, 147, 148, 324 and 326 IPC read with

Section 149 IPC, seek anticipatory bail.

2. The learned Public Prosecutor opposed the

application.

3. The occurrence took place at about 6.30 p.m on

19.3.2007, pursuant to a football match in which the defacto

complainant, who was the mediator in the quarrel which took

place on the previous day, was assaulted with iron rod, pipe,

cycle chain etc., resulting in his sustaining injuries including

fracture of his leg.

4. Anticipatory bail cannot be granted in a case of this

nature. There is no reason why the petitioners should not

surrender before the Magistrate concerned and seek regular

bail. Accordingly if the petitioners surrender before the

Magistrate and file applications for regular bail within two

weeks from today, the same shall be considered and disposed of

preferably on the same day on which the applications are filed.

The application is disposed of as above.
