JUDGMENT
Petitioner, who is working as Junior Foreman in
Machine Composing, in the Government Central Press,
Thiruvananthapuram, is due to retire on superannuation
on 30.11.2009. Petitioner aspires for promotion to the
post of Senior Foundry Foreman, in the vacancy which,
according to him, has arisen on 17.6.2008. Petitioner
submits that he is not only eligible to be considered for
promotion but is also the senior most person in the feeder
category for promotion to the post of Senior Foreman.
Petitioner’s claim is pending consideration before the
second respondent under Exts.P2 and P3.
2. I heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the
learned Government Pleader.
3. In the result, writ petition is disposed of directing the
second respondent to consider the petitioner’s claim as
contained in Exts.P2 and P3 and pass orders thereon

within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a
copy of this judgment. Copy of the writ petition shall be
produced along with the copy of the judgment before the
second respondent.
