                              JUDGMENT

Petitioners are members of Alleppey Cycle Assembling

Workers’ Industrial Co-operative Society Regd.No.S Ind.(A)50.

Their complaint is about the failure to convene the General Body

Meeting of the said society. The term of the administrator now

in office has ended on 8.11.2008. The matter is pending before

the Government for consideration of enlargement of the term of

the administrator. The society was formed as a measure of

rehabilitation of erstwhile coir workers of Aspinwall Company.

There is no reason why the General Body Meeting should not be

appropriately and urgently convened. Accordingly, it is directed

that the Government will decide on the question of continuing

the administrator within a period of one month from now and the

General Body Meeting of the society shall be convened within an

outer limit of three months from the date of the Government

decision on the question of approval of continuance of the

administrator for a limited period. The writ petition is ordered

accordingly.
