The petitioner claims to be a former taxi driver who had

held a permit to run a taxi service in the Erstwhile Cochin Air Port

at Cochin. According to the petitioner, when the air port was

shifted to the present International Air Port at Nedumbassery,

there was a promise that the former taxi drivers at Ernakulam

would also be considered for issuing taxi permits in the

International Air Port. Petitioner’s grievance is that the petitioner

has not been given such a permit. Detailing the grievance, the

petitioner had filed Ext.P5 representation before the 2nd

respondent. Petitioner seeks a direction to the 2nd respondent to

consider and pass orders on Ext.P5 expeditiously.

2. I have heard the standing counsel appearing for the

respondent also.

3. In the facts and circumstances of the case, I dispose

of this writ petition with a direction to the 2nd respondent to

consider and pass appropriate orders on Ext.P5, as expeditiously

as possible, at any rate, within two months from the date of

receipt of a copy of this judgment. The petitioner shall be

afforded an opportunity of being heard. Petitioner would be free

to rely on Ext.P3 judgment or any other evidence in support of

his case which will also be duly considered by the 2nd respondent,

if, applicable.

The petitioner shall forward a certified copy of this judgment

along with a copy of the writ petition to the 2nd respondent for

compliance.
