Decision No.2970/IC(A)/2008
F. No.CIC/MA/A/2008/00855
Dated, the 1st August, 2008
Name of the Appellant: Sh. Ojasvi Pandey
Name of the Public Authority: H.P.C.L.
Facts
:
1. Both the parties were heard on 1/8/2008.
2. The CPIO stated that the appellant was advised to submit a legible copy
of the application for information, which he did not do. The appellant was of the
view that his hand-written application was legible and the CPIO has refused to
furnish the information, on the ground that the application was not legible.
Decision:
3. An examination of the hand-written application submitted by the appellant
shows that it is indeed difficult to identify as to what information was required.
The CPIO is, therefore, justified in asking for a neatly hand-written or typed copy
of application for information.
4. The appellant is advised to seek inspection of the relevant records and
files so as to identify and specify the desired information. And, accordingly he
should ask for the information. The CPIO is directed to allow inspection of the
records within 15 working days from the date of issue of this decision.
5. The appeal is thus disposed of.
