Background
Sh. Ram Das, (hereinafter called the appellant) vide his RTI application dated
14.01.2009, sought information regarding the cloth used by the Police for seat covers in
their vehicles, which according to the appellant is the same military dress material used
by the India Army for the uniform of Army solders, Sh. P.S. Bhusan, PIO/DCP Police
Control Room vide his letter dated 11.02.2009, informed the appellant that the Police
Department has not used any such military dress material for seat covers of PCR Vehicles.
He further informed the appellant that the cloth of seat covers used in PCR Vehicles had
since been changed to grey colour in order to avoid any confusion. Aggrieved with the
decision of the CPIO, the appellant filed first appeal before the First Appellate Authority
(FAA) who upheld the decision of the CPIO. Aggrieved by the decision of the respondents
he filed a second appeal before the Commission.
2. The matter was heard on 18.12.2009.
3. Sh. Ram Das, the appellant was present for the hearing.
4. Sh. Rajinder Singh, APIO, Smt. Sudesh Kumari, ACP and Sh. Narender Kumar,
ASI represented the respondent.
Decision
After examining the relevant documents the Commission finds that complete
factual information has been provided to the appellant under the provisions of the RTI
Act, 2005. Hence, the orders of the respondent are not to be interfered with.
The matter is disposed off accordingly.
