The appellant had asked in RTI application for Extension of Diploma in
Primary Education/Certificate in Primary Education Programme for
Implementation in the Sated of Jharkhand.

1. Is Diploma in Primary Education Diploma in Primary Education
(DPE) program recognized by NCTE? (DPE) program is recognized by
NCTE for North Eastern States and
Sikkim.
2. Jharkhand State is considered to be a Jharkhand State is not considered to
part of North Eastern States. be a part of North Eastern States.
3. In this regard provide a copy of A copy of the recognition letter for
recognition latter of DPE programme. DPE programme had been provided
to the appellant

The PIO has given the appellant information based on IGNOU’s records.
Apparently the DPE program is extended to Jharkhand by NCT through the State
Government sponsored by Sarvashiksha Abhiyan. The PIO has obtained this
clarification from Director School of education on 1 April 2009. The PIO is directed to
send this information to the appellant.
Decision:
The appeal is allowed.
The PIO will send the information describe above to the appellant before 5 April 2009.
This decision is announced in open chamber.
