Background
1. The Applicant filed an RTI application dt.19.8.08 with the CPIO, C-DAC, Pune.
He requested for information against various points w.r.t action taken on the
software provided by him for evaluation and incorporation with Tamil
software tools 2.0. The CPIO replied on 26.9.08 and on 18.12.08 providing
point wise information. Not satisfied with the reply, the Applicant filed an
appeal dt.17.1.09 with the Appellate Authority. On not receiving any reply,
he filed a second appeal dt.19.5.09 before CIC.
2. The Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit, Information Commissioner, scheduled the
hearing for August 12, 2009.
3. Mr.Shriniwas Pownikar, PIO and Mr.Chandrakant P.Dhutadmal, MTS
represented the Public Authority.
4. The Applicant was heard through audio conferencing.
Decision
5. With regard to the Applicant’s complaint about the delayed reply to the
Commission, the Respondent submitted that it was due to shifting of office to
a new location and also the absence of the DG in the office due to the official
tours he had to undertake to handle additional responsibilities.
6. The Commission reviewed the complaint regarding non supply of correct
information against points 1 and 6 and noted that all available information in
the files with regard to the above points has already been provided to the
Appellant and accordingly rejects the appeal.
