1. The hearing was held in the above matter on August, 2006.

Dr. A.K. Parate, Joint Secretary, UGC, appeared before the Commission along with a letter dated August, 2006 from the UGC about the inability of Dr.(Mrs) Renu Batra to appear before the Commission as she was on leave due to sudden demise of her father. The Commission expressed its condolence to her on this sad incident and postponed the hearing. The matter will now be heard at 11:30 a.m. on Monday the 4th September, 2006 when both Dr (Mrs) Renu Batra and Dr. A.K. Parate are directed to be present to furnish the clarification sought by the Commission.

2. The Commission ordered accordingly.
