FACTS
:
By his RTI application dated 29.9.2008, the appellant had sought
information on 5 paras relating to non-implementation of the recommendations of
Sixth Central Pay Commission in regard to college lecturers working under the
Puducherry Government.
2. The matter was fixed for hearing on 17.8.09. The parties did not appear at
the hearing before the Commission. Hence, the Commission decided to hear the
matter through video conferencing. The matter was accordingly heard on 3.9.09
at 15.00 hrs. The Puducherry Government is represented by Shri S.
Chandrasekharan, Deputy Secretary (Education).
3. It is the submission of Shri S. Chandrasekharan that the Sixth Central Pay
Commission’s recommendations are not applicable to the college lecturers and
the instructions in this regard are to be issued by the University Grants
Commission. The Government is awaiting these instructions.
DECISION
4. In view of the above, the appeal has no merit and is dismissed.
