Neither the Complainant nor the Respondent was present for the

hearing.

The hearing was held on 26 March 2009.

2. In this case, the Complainant had, in his application dated September
18, 2007, requested the CPIO for information regarding the period for which
one Girish Chandra Tripathi had worked in their Centre and the salary paid
to him every month. He also wanted for the copies of attendance register
and the pay bills concerning this person. The CPIO replied on September 28,
2007 and asked him to intimate his own relationship with that individual
before any information could be given. The Complainant wrote back on
October 9, 2007 explaining that he had no relationship with the said
individual and wanted this information in the interest of employees only.
The CPIO replied to this letter on October 19, 2007 and advised him to
approach instead the Department of Ex-servicemen Welfare to obtain the
desired information. The Complainant has approached the CIC praying for a
direction to the CPIO concerned to provide him with the desired
information.

contents of the application for information and the various replies given by
the CPIO and the correspondence between the EME Centre and the District
Sainik Welfare Board, we think that the CPIO concerned must obtain the
desired information himself and provide to the Complainant. Therefore, we
direct him to provide to the Complainant the desired information within 20
working days from the receipt of this order without fail, even if he has to
secure it from any other agency or Department.

4. With the above direction, the complaint is disposed off.

5. Copies of this order be given free of cost to the parties.
