FACTS

:-

By his letter of 04/09/2008, the complainant had sought information on five paras.
The first two paras relate to issue of ration on the complainant’s ration card. The
remaining three paras relate to non-renewal of BPL Card No.183771.

2. Vide his letter dated nil, Assistant Commissioner(SW) had provided point-wise
information to the complainant. As regards the first two paras, the Assistant
Commissioner had mentioned that the complainant could collect details of rations availed
during last two years. As regards paras 3, 4 & 5, no specific information was provided.

3. Hence, the present complaint.

4. Heard on 29/07/2009. The Complainant is represented by Shri S.A. Azad. The
public authority is represented by the officer named above. It is the submission of Shri
Dhodhi that, as per report received from the concerned ration shop owner, the
complainant has not received any ration during last five years. He would also submit
that fresh BPL ration card bearing No. BPL 32130400 has since been issued to the
complainant.

5. On the other hand, Shri Azad would submit that the public authority has given
misleading information inasmuch as in the first letter they mentioned that the details of
ration issued could be collected for last two years, but in the subsequent letter, it is
mentioned that the complainant did not receive any rations on his ration card. It is
also his submission that the information has not been provided in the prescribed time-
frame.
