FACTS:
The matter, in short, is that vide RTI application dated 9th July, 2008, the
appellant had requested for inspection of file relating to shop No.9, DDA
Shopping Centre, Mosjid Moth, Punchseel Enclave, New Delhi. The CPIO had
responded to him vide letter dated 7.8.2008 mentioning that the concerned file
was not traceable. The Appellate Authority vide letter dated 11.09.2008 had
directed CPIO to make fresh efforts to trace out the file.
2. The matter was hard on 03.09.2009. Appellant present. The public
authority is represented by Shri P.S. Verma, Assistant Director – (CE), DDA.
Shri Verma would submit that the concerned file has not been traced out and,
therefore, it is not possible to arrange for its inspection. The DDA is the
custodian of files relating to property value of which runs into billions of rupees.
Hence, loss or non-traceability of files of DDA reflects poorly on its efficiency.
DECISION
3. In view of the above, Shri K.C. Surinder, Dy. Director (CE) is hereby
directed to make fresh efforts to trace out the file and file an affidavit before this
Commission regarding the efforts made in the matter in 06 weeks time.
4. The matter will come up for hearing on 22.10.2009 at 10.30 hrs.
