These four writ petitions have been filed by 64 petitioners. All of them were

appointed as Safai Karamchari in the Cantonment Board. Their services are

stated to have been terminated under identical order which are under

challenge in all these petitions. Interim order was granted by this Court in the

year 1992. The petitioners have continued in service for last more than 18

years. The only reason mentioned for termination was that the Board wanted

to reduce the surplus staff.

Let an affidavit be filed by some responsible officer of the Cantonment Board

disclosing the current status of number of post available, the number of

petitioners surviving and working in the employment of Board.
