Facts

:

1. The complaints were scheduled for hearing on 16/12/2009. But, the
complainants did not avail of the opportunity of hearing. The complaints are
therefore examined on merit.

2. The complainants have submitted separate RTI applications to the
respondents. They have alleged that the requested information have not been
furnished to them. They have asked for information in the form of various
queries, which relate to service matters and redressal of grievances of the
complainant-II.

Decision:

3. An information seeker is expected to ask for information as per section 2(f)
and (j) of the Act, which requires that the information should be available in any
material form. If necessary, the appellant is free to seek inspection of the
relevant records so as to identify and specify the required information.. The
complainants are accordingly advised.

4. In the instant complaints, the complainants have made attempts to elicit
views and opinion of the respondents CPIOs, through various forms of queries,
which are not covered under the definition of information. The complainants are
therefore advised to seek information, as per section 2(f) of the Act, and re-

submit the application for information to the concerned CPIO, who should be the
custodian of information. They would also be free to inspect the relevant
documents, which should be furnished to them as per the provisions of the Act.

5. Since there are no provisions under the Act for redressal of grievances
relating to service matters, these complaints are considered unnecessary and
are thus disposed of
