1. The total amount of duty against the appellants is to the tune of Rs. 7,18,824/- (rupees seven lac eighteen thousand eight hundred twenty four). Appellants have already deposited an amount of Rs. 6,36,113/- (rupees six lac thirty six thousand one hundred thirteen), as admitted in the impugned order passed by the Commissioner. Penalty of Rs. 50,000/- (rupees fifty thousand) has also been imposed.

2. In view of the fact that the major portion of the duty stands already deposited, I dispense with the condition of the predeposit of the balance amount of duty and penalty. Stay Petition is disposed of in the above terms. Appeal is fixed for hearing on 18th January, 2002.
