Title : The Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minister of Water Resources laid a statement regarding status of implementation of the recommendations contained in the 206th Report of Standing Committee on Science and Technology, Environment and Forests on Demands for Grants (2010-11), pertaining to the to the Department of Space, Ministry of Science and Technology.

THE MINISTER OF PARLIAMENTARY AFFAIRS AND MINISTER OF WATER RESOURCES (SHRI PAWAN KUMAR BANSAL): Madam, on behalf of Shri V. Narayanasamy, I am laying this statement on the status of implementation of recommendations contained in the 206th Report of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Science and Technology, Environment and Forests on Demands for Grants 2010-2011 of Department of Space, in pursuance of direction 73A of Hon’ble Speakec, Lok Sabha, issued under the provisions of Rule 389 of Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Lok Sabha vide Lok Sabha Bulletin­Part II (No.456) dated September 1, 2004.

           The    Parliamentary Standing Committee took evidence of the representatives of the Department of Space on 23rd March 2010, while considering Demands for Grants for the year 2010-2011. The Committee recommended the Demands for Grants of the Department of Space in its 206th Report presented to the Rajya Sabha on 22nd April 2010 and laid on the table of the Lok Sabha on 22nd April 2010.

The Standing Committee, in its report, made ten (10) recommendations. The ‘Action Taken Report’ on the actions suggested in the recommendations has been furnished by Department of Space in September 2010, which is under the consideration of the Standing Committee. A Statement showing the recommendations of the Parliamentary Standing Committee and the Action Taken Report on the same is annexed.
