This petition is for bail.

2. The alleged offence is under Section 8(2) of the

Kerala Abkari Act. According to prosecution, on 25.11.2008 at

about 1.10 p.m., petitioner was found transporting 5 litres of illicit

arrack. She was not arrested from the spot since she escaped.

and she is in custody for the past 18 days. This petition is not

opposed. Learned Public Prosecutor pointed out that there is no

other case against petitioner.

4. On hearing both sides, I am satisfied that bail can

be granted to petitioner on conditions. Hence, the following order

is passed :

Petitioner shall be released on bail on her executing a

bond for Rs.25,000/- (Rupees twenty five thousand

offence of similar nature, her bail is liable

to be cancelled.

Petition is allowed.
