In a significant order, the Calcutta High Court today struck down the authority of the municipal bodies in West Bengal to regularise unauthorised constructions against acceptance of retention fee.
Justice Soumitra Pal struck down a notification of Kolkata Municipal Corporation and other municipal bodies in the state allowing unauthorised constructions to be regularised on payment of retention fee fixed by the bodies.
