The Calcutta high court on Tuesday granted bail to former athlete Pinki Pramanik in a rape case.

Pinki was arrested on June 14 after a woman alleged that Pinki Pramanik  was actually male and that he had raped her.

Pinki Pramanik’s gender test report will be tabled in the court later in the day.

NCW officials said the authorities have been asked to reply in a week. In a statement, NCW said, “The commission has sought action taken report from the director general of prisons and commissioner of police, Kolkata regarding this matter within a week.”
