“The Supreme Court bench upheld TAFRC contention. Managements have no right to charge excess fee over & above what has been fixed by TAFRC. It has come as a great relief for parents who have been fighting this cause for the last two years,” said Nagati Narayana, president, Telangana Parents’ Association.

Members of Students Federation of India, who held protests at TAFRC office in Masab Tank, also heaved a sigh of relief. However, members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad opposed TAFRC’s exercise to revise fee structure of all professional courses every three years. “Fee reimbursement for all those seeking admission in professional courses should be regularised. Also, admission to management quota seats should be held online so that there is transparency in the fee being charged by the colleges,” read a statement issued by ABVP.

Following the Supreme Court order, TAFRC has invited 63 engineering colleges for personal hearing.
