Two persons were sentenced to 10 years in prison by a local court of Mahrajganj (UP) for smuggling drugs.
The additional sessions judge Yogendra Ram Gupta yesterday pronounced Amer and Upendra Pal guilty of being involved in drug smuggling racket.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs one lakh each.
Amer and Upendra Pal were arrested about nine years back by police on the Indo-Nepal border at Thuthibari here and one kilogram of narcotic substance was recovered from their possession.
