Former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, main accused in a land scam case, today returned to Central Jail from Victoria Hospital amid tight police security for serving Judicial Custody till October 22.

Mr Yeddyurappa was shifted to jail in an ambulance with full security and police blocking traffic.

Yesterday Mr Yeddyurappa was shifted to government-run Victoria Hospital after being discharged from high-tech Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular and Research (JICR) where a thorough medical check up including Angeogram and ECG was conducted by a team of five doctors.

The BJP leader surrendered on October 14 after the Special Lokayukta Court denied him bail on graft charges relating to denotification of lands in and around the city during his tenure as the Chief Minister.

Mr Yeddyurappa after remaining in the Cell till night complained of chest pain and was permitted for shifting to Jayadeva Hospital.

His interim bail application in the High Court will come up for hearing tomorrow.

  1. Every citizen should think whether even on payment (money managed to get other than legitimate means) that allegedly earned through corrupt practices would ever get such facility in a jail. Why different treatments for different skins by the Govt. and judiciary?
