Sushant Rajput’s Father Petitions Delhi High Court Over Film Depicting Actor’s Life

Krishna Kishore Singh, the father of Sushant Singh Rajput, has appealed to the Delhi High Court against the prior ruling that declined to halt further broadcasts of the film ‘Nyay: The Justice,’ which is purportedly inspired by the late Bollywood actor’s life.

In July, a single judge at the Delhi High Court dismissed the request to restrain the online streaming of a movie centered on the life of the deceased actor. This application was submitted as part of Singh’s legal action against the film’s producers and director.

The court reasoned that seeking an injunction at this point in time, especially since the movie had already been released on a platform some time ago and likely viewed by thousands, was not appropriate.

Krishna Kishore Singh contended that the film infringed upon the personality rights associated with Sushant Singh Rajput (SSR).

This verdict has been contested before a two-judge panel comprising Justice Yashwant Varma and Justice Dharmesh Sharma. The High Court has issued a notice and requested a response from the filmmakers.

Sushant Singh Rajput, aged 34, was discovered deceased in his Mumbai apartment in the Bandra suburb on June 14, 2020.
