Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, in a recent social media post, announced that, in accordance with the authority vested by the Constitution of India, the President of India, following consultations with the Chief Justice of India (CJI), has approved the transfer of five high court judges. This decision comes shortly after the apex court, on November 7, expressed dissatisfaction with the Centre’s perceived ‘selective pick and choose approach.’

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer of these judges from one High Court to another High Court.

1. Justice Vivek Kumar Singh [From Allahabad High Court to Madras High Court]

2. Justice Shekhar B Saraf [From Calcutta High Court to Allahabad High Court]

3. Justice Bibek Chaudhuri [From Calcutta High Court to Patna High Court]

4. Justice M. Sudheer Kumar [From Telangana High Court to Madras High Court]

5. Justice C. Sumalatha [From Telangana High Court to Karnataka High Court]
