Former West Bengal minister Susanta Ghosh, of Midnapore, allegedly involved in the skeleton recovery case in Benachapra village near Garbeta, was today further remanded to 14-day judicial custody by Midnapore District Judges Court.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Manoj Rai also remanded eight others, who had been arrested in this connection, in 14-day jail custody.

Only Madan Santra, another accused in the case, was remanded in 9-day custody by the CJM.

Susanta Ghosh looked morose and emaciated as he occupied a back bench in the lockup inside the court room.

Following his judgement Ghosh said, “The government is trying to placate me in a false case. However, I still have full confidence in the judiciary.”
