In a recent development, the Andhra Pradesh High Court, on Wednesday, issued directives to the CID, instructing them not to arrest Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu until Monday in connection with the Amaravati Inner Ring Road case. Additionally, the court also barred the police from arresting Naidu in the Angallu violence case until further proceedings are held tomorrow.

The Amaravati Inner Ring Road case revolves around allegations of “manipulating” the master plan of Amaravati’s capital city, concerning the alignment of the inner ring road and the seed capital. It is claimed that these actions resulted in undue enrichment for multiple companies during Naidu’s tenure.

The Angallu case is linked to the riots that occurred during a political rally led by the TDP chief in August.

Notably, on Monday, the Andhra Pradesh High Court had rejected three bail petitions filed by Chandrababu Naidu in separate cases. Naidu had sought regular bail petitions in the Amaravati Inner Ring Road and Angallu attack cases, as well as an anticipatory bail petition in the FiberNet case.

The FiberNet case pertains to alleged tender manipulation in the allocation of a work order under Phase-1 of the AP FiberNet Project, totaling Rs 330 crore, to a preferred company.

At present, Chandrababu Naidu is in judicial remand at the Rajamahendravaram central prison, facing charges related to the purported misappropriation of funds from the Skill Development Corporation, leading to an alleged loss of over Rs 300 crore to the state exchequer.
