Balakrishnan Nair, J.

The petitioner is a salesman in a Margin Free shop at

Ochira. While so, the 3rd respondent, Sub Inspector of Police,

on 2.7.2008 came to his shop and took him into custody. He

was questioned regarding the missing of one Smt.Renjini from

her husband’s house from 28.6.2008. Thereafter, he was let off.

The petitioner submits, he is being frequently summoned to the

police station and the police are coming to the place of his

employment daily. Therefore, he has even lost his employment.

So, he preferred Ext.P1 representation before the 1st respondent

regarding the harassment by the 3rd respondent and thereafter

this writ petition is filed seeking appropriate reliefs.

2. The learned Government Pleader, upon instructions,

submitted that the petitioner was found coming out from the

house of the aforesaid Smt.Renjini and the people in the locality

W.P.(C) No.20868/2008 2

apprehended and handed over him to the police on that day.

Since no offence was detected, he was let off. After a few days,

the said Smt.Renjini was missing and therefore he was called to

the police station and questioned to find out whether he is

aware of the whereabouts of the lady. The learned Government

Pleader further submitted that the police have not found

anything incriminating against the petitioner so far. The police

have no intention to harass the petitioner. They are only

questioning him to find out whether any information could be

collected from him, which may lead to the missing lady.

The above submission is recorded and the writ petition is

closed.
