The petitioner was appointed as a Craft Teacher (Needle Work)

as a part time teacher. The 1st respondent-manager of the school, in

which the petitioner has been working, submitted an application dated

1.6.1989 for conversion of the post into a full time post. That request

was rejected by the 2nd respondent. The appeal filed before the 3rd

respondent was also rejected by Ext.P1. Ext.P2 appeal against Ext.P1

order was filed. Despite Ext.P3 reminder, Ext.P2 remained unattended.

The petitioner filed W.P.(C).No.28312/2009 before this Court, which

was dismissed leaving it open to the petitioner to seek appropriate

remedies. The petitioner submitted Ext.P4 representation, which was

not answered. It is under the above circumstances, the petitioner has

filed this writ petition seeking the following reliefs:

“a) Issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ order or
direction, directing the 4th Respondent to consider and pass orders
on Ext.P4 representation expeditiously.

b) Writ of mandamus or any appropriate writ order or direction,
directing the 4th Respondent to pass orders converting the part
time post held by the Petitioner to a full time post.”

2. The learned Government Pleader, on instructions, submits

that the Government has, by G.O(Ms.)No.257/09/G.Edn. dated

31.12.2009, decided to grant approval to all specialist teachers who

w.p.c.36961/09 2

have put in 15 years of service as full time teachers. He also submits

that the petitioner’s name has also been included in the list of

teachers, who are to be approved as full time teachers as per the

said Government Order. But the learned Government Pleader clarifies

that the said benefit would be only from the date of the said order.

This is recorded and the writ petition is closed.
