Petitioners have filed this petition under section 482 of the
Code of Criminal Procedure for protection of their life and liberty.
Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that the
petitioners are major and have married to each other. He further
contends that no case is registered against any of the petitioners at
the instance of respondent nos. 4 to 8. Now they apprehend danger
to their lives at the hands of the private respondents.
Notice of motion to respondent Nos. 1 to 3 only.
On the asking of the Court, Shri Vishal Munjal, Deputy
Advocate General, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of aforesaid
respondents. Copy of the petition has been given to the learned
State counsel.
After hearing the learned counsel for the parties and
going through the material placed on the file, this petition is disposed
of with a direction that Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur
respondent no. 2 shall look into the matter and take an appropriate
action, if so required, in accordance with law.
