Background
1. The Applicant filed an RTI application dt.18.6.09 with the PIO, NWR, Jaipur seeking
information regarding latest salary and other details of her husband for the month of
May 2009 (Copy not in file). The PIO replied on 6.7.09.09 enclosing the information
dt.18.6.09 furnished by the DSC, RPF, Jaipur stating that information sought cannot
be provided as it is personal. The Applicant filed an appeal dt.24.7.09 with the
Appellate Authority stating that the letter is not legible and reiterating her request for
the information. The Appellate Authority replied on 7.9.09 upholding the decision of
the PIO,. Being aggrieved with the reply, the Applicant filed a second appeal dt.nil
before CIC.
2. The Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit, Information Commissioner, scheduled the hearing
for January 15, 2010.
3. Shri Vijay Singh, Sr.DFM and Shri Kamlesh Kr. Bhaht PII represented the Public
Authority.
4. The Appellant was heard through audio conferencing.
Decision
5. The Commission on review of the information provided holds that information sought
is not personal as it relates to the duties being discharged by a public servant in
public interest. In view of this, the Commission directs the PIO to provide complete
information sought by the Appellant in her RTI application.
6. The information should reach the Appellant by 15.2.2010 and the Appellant to submit
a compliance report to the Commission by 22.2.2010.
7. The appeal is accordingly disposed of.
