SHRI BACHI SINGH RAWAT ‘BACHDA’ (ALMORA): I thank you for allowing me to speak, i have given a notice for constituting a separate Uttranchal state. First of all I would thank the Government for including the issue of creating Uttranchal and other new states in the national agenda. Our senior leaders have given assur­ance to take action on it within 90 days. Now resent­ment is rising among public. Several incidents like Muzaffarnagar incident have happened and agitations were held on this issue. Now people have apprehen­sions that the Government is not going to do anything in this regard. I request the hon. Minister to give an assurance for constituting a separate Uttranchal State …(lnterruptionsThe issue regarding Chhatisgarh should not be dropped. The hon. Minister should give an assurance here so that a message could be conveyed to public that action is being taken on it at the earliest. This issue should be taken up with hon. Prime Minister and action should be taken up within 90 days for constituting Uttrancha! state.
