REGUPATHY): Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to lay a statement correcting replies given on 01.03.2005 to Starred Question No. 1 asked by Shri Avtar Singh Bhadana, and Shri Brajesh Pathak regarding “Tsunami Disaster”, and giving reasons for delay in correcting the reply.

MD. SALIM (CALCUTTA NORTH EAST): Sir, I am on this issue itself. This is an important issue, and we missed an opportunity to put supplimentaries to the Starred Question No. 1 on 01.03.2005 because of hungama in the House. I would request that some time should be allotted to discuss on the Tsunami Disaster, namely, how this disaster can be tackled, etc.

श्री शैलेन्द्र कुमार (चायल) : अध्यक्ष महोदय, जैसा अभी मंत्री महोदय ने बताया कि सुनामी के कहर के कारण बहुत सी शिकायतें सुनने की मिली हैं। स्वयं सेवी संस्थाओं या भारत सरकार की ओर से जो पैसा सहायता के तौर पर वहां गया, उसका सही मायने में दुरुपयोग हो रहा है। सुनामी से पीड़ित परिवार के लोगों को अभी तक बसाया नहीं गया है। उनमें से बहुत से लोग अभी भी जंगलों में निवास कर रहे हैं। आज जरूरत इस बात की है कि उनके लिए पहले आवास, रोटी और कपड़े की व्यवस्था की जाए, तभी हमारा मकसद और लक्ष्य पूरा होगा। सभी सम्मानित सदस्यों ने अपनी नधि से उनकी सहायता भी की है। उसका सही रूप में उपयोग हो सके, इस ओर भारत सरकार ध्यान दे।

SHRI S. REGUPATHY: Sir, already, there have been discussions regarding the Tsunami relief, etc. We are also prepared to give particulars about the same, which the hon. Members want, during a Short Duration Discussion on this issue.

चौधरी लाल सिंह : सुनामी के कारण हुई तबाही के बारे में मैं माननीय मंत्री जी से पूछना चाहता हूं कि सरकार ने जो कमिटमैंट्स किए थे, वे कब पूरे होने जा रहे हैं? कहा गया था कि पीड़ित लोगों को मकान बना कर दिए जाएंगे। उन्हें कब तक बना कर दिया जाएगा?
SHRI S. REGUPATHY: Mr. Speaker, Sir, temporary relief work is going on, and we are going to do everything for the permanent relief work.
