Judgment

Giri, J:

Petitioner who claims to be the Convener of the Action

Committee, Space Engineers Welfare Society contends that there is

a threat from certain persons as regards the conduct of the General

Body Meeting of the Society, proposed to be held on 10/5/2008.

The meeting is to be held at the Golf Club, Kowdiar, Trivandrum.

Specific reference in this regard is made to the second respondent

who is stated to be a close associate of the Secretary of the Society,

who is alleged to have given forged and fabricated documents to the

Registrar of the Societies. Ext.P1 is the complaint filed in this

regard by the petitioner before the Circle Inspector of Police,

Peroorkada, Trivandrum.

2. We have heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the

learned Government Pleader.

3. Conduct of the General Body of the Society is a legitimate

activity. There is every reason for the Police to ensure smooth

conduct of the General Body meeting.

4. In the result the writ petition is disposed of directing the

first respondent to look into Ext.P1 and see that the members of the

Space Engineers Welfare Society (SEWALAS), Kanjirampara,

Trivandrum are in a position to transact the business in the general

body meeting to be held on 10/5/2008, without any hindrance from

any side.

WP(C).14214/08. 2
