The Allahabad HC on Friday issued a notice to PM Modi on BSF jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav’s plea challenging his election as MP from Varanasi in 2019, & sought a reply before the next hearing on August 21.
Yadav was to be SP’s candidate from Varanasi, but his nomination was rejected on May 1 after he failed to submit a certificate that he was not sacked from BSF for either corruption or disloyalty.
He alleged that the returning officer had done so under pressure from Modi, & that the PM’s papers should also have been rejected as he had not given details of his family.
