A city court Thursday sent three men, arrested on charges of the honour killing of a couple and another woman, to 14 days of judicial custody.

Metropolitan Magistrate Satish Kumar sent the three accused to judicial custody till July 14. Earlier, the accused were on a five-day police remand.

The police told the court that the accused are yet to be arrested in connection with the murder of Shobha, the third victims.

‘A separate FIR (first information report) was lodged in this regard,’ police said.

The three – Mandeep Nagar, 23, Ankit Chaudhury, 22, and Nakul Khari, 21 – were arrested June 24 from Garh Mukteshwar, about 90 km from here in Ghaziabad district.

According to police, the accused have confessed to murdering Monica, her husband Kuldeep and Monica’s cousin Shobha in what are believed to be honour killings.

Monica and Kuldeep belonged to different castes and their families were against their marriage while Shobha had allegedly helped her sister Khushbu, a model, to elope with a man from another caste.

Meanwhile, the investigators have also asked for the court’s permission to interrogate the accused for half-an-hour in the court premises in connection with Shobha’s murder.

‘We will move an application, if required, to seek their custodial interrogation afresh in the Shobha murder case,’ police added
