MR. SPEAKER: I will decide that and let you know tomorrow.
(BHATINDA): Sir, I would like to raise the following matter during ‘Zero Hour’.
The Bhatinda District in Punjab is fast emerging as one of the important districts of India, and as a recognition to this fact, the Government of India has already announced many schemes both developmental and otherwise.
One such scheme announced by the Central Government was to set up a refinery in Bhatinda which would facilitate curb the unemployment problem. Secondly, it would also add to the prosperity of the country as well as Punjab.
Sir, with much fanfare, the inauguration of the construction of Guru Govind Singh Oil Refinery took place. The task of building it was assigned to the Government-owned company, Hindustan Petroleum. But I am sorry to state that till now, the whole project has been stuck under various Government Departments. Nothing concrete is in sight about the completion of the project.
Therefore, I would like to draw the attention of the Central Government to this fact and urge that all the Departments concerning the project sit together to thrash out the bottlenecks so that the project is completed.
